The construction of three wind power plants, namely, Phong Lieu, Phong Huy and Phong Nguyen, began on December 31, 2019, in Quang Tri province in Vietnam. The project, which entails an investment of VND 4.8 trillion, received approval in September 2018. The plants are expected to generate electricity by October 2021, when the construction under the project is completed. The power plants are expected to have a combined capacity of 144 MW.  At the end of 2019, Quang Tri province was estimated to have over 70 operational wind power projects with a combined capacity of over 3,600 MW.
