An Italian-Thai Development (ITD)-led joint venture has secured a contract worth THB9.34 billion to construct the Thailand-China high-speed rail (HSR). The joint venture comprises Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited and China Railway No. 10 Engineering Group. The JV won the contract for construction project number 3-1 covering the Kaeng Khoi–Klang Dong and Pang Asoke–Bandai Ma sections.

The scope of work includes the construction of a railway structure for a length of 30.21 km, construction of nine buildings to support the electric railway system, relocation of existing stations, building of railway crossing bridges, and implementation of road landscaping and other related works.

Construction project number 3-1 is part of the THB50.63 billion megaproject for the joint development of the Thailand-China HSR Phase 1.
