Construction has commenced on a 1.76-km-long bridge over the Mekong River in Cambodia’s Kratie province. Majority of the funding for the USD114 million bridge project has been provided by the Government of China. Shanghai Construction Company (SCG) is undertaking the construction while Guangzhou Wanan Technical Consulting Company is the supervisor.

Additionally, 32-km-long connection roads and four intermediate bridges will also be constructed as a part of the project, Works on the bridge is expected to be completed in 2026.
