Green Power Energy Company Limited (GPE) has commenced operations on its 20 MW Taungdaw Gwin photovoltaic (PV) plant in Myanmar. The facility was developed under a build-own-operate (BOO) model and is located on an 81 hectare site in the Myit Thar Township.

Taungdaw Gwin plant has around 45,980 solar panels with a solar tracking system. Sungrow Power Supply Company Limited has supplied the 1500 V string inverter solution. The solar plant can generate around 45 GWh of renewable energy (RE) annually. Output from the facility will be used to reduce power outages as well as well as increase the capacity of the national grid.
