The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) has awarded a VND35 trillion billion contract to the Vietur consortium to develop a passenger terminal in Long Thanh airport in the Dong Nai province. Work is scheduled to commence by the end of August 2023 and will be executed within 39 months.

The Vietur consortium comprises Turkey-based IC Ictas Construction Industry and Trade Group and Vietnam-based companies including Ricons Construction Investment Joint Stock Company, Newtecons construction investment, SOL E&C Construction Investment Joint Stock Company, ATAD Structure Joint Stock Company, Construction Corporation No. 1 – JSC, HAWEE Electromechanical Joint Stock Company, Import-Export Joint Stock Corporation Vietnam Construction and Import Export Corporation (Vinaconex), Phuc Hung Holdings Construction Joint Stock Company, Hanoi Construction Corporation. 

The Long Thanh Airport project is estimated to  cost VND336.63 trillion and will be constructed in three phases. The first phase, expected to cost more than VND109 trillion, will include the construction of a runway and a passenger terminal. The terminal will be able to transport 25 million passengers annually. 

Once operational in 2050, the airport will transport 100 million passengers and 5 million tonnes of cargo each year.
