The completion of the Prasarana light rail transit (LRT) line extension project that is being undertaken by Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad will be delayed. The original 2014 deadline has been extended to 2015, as the land acquisition process had taken longer than expected. The project, which will be executed in two phases, is expected to be complete by early 2015. The 17.7 km Ampang extension line will connect Sri Petaling station to Putra Heights via 12 new stations, while the 17 km expansion of the Kelana Jaya Line (spanning 13 stations) will link the Kelana Jaya station with Putra Heights. Currently, the project is around 30 per cent complete.
