Citaglobal Bhd has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with China-based Shanghai SUS Environment Company Limited to collaborate on the development of waste-to-energy (WtE) projects in Malaysia. The companies will assess the feasibility of developing WtE plants in the country and plan to divert all waste from unsustainable landfills to WtE plants.

Malaysia generates 38,000 tonnes of solid waste which is being collected daily and dumped at 150 acres of landfills annually.
