The China Railway Second Bureau has expressed interest in restoring the Da Lat–Thap Cham railway and investing in the expansion of Lien Khuong International Airport in Thailand.
The 84 km railway, built in 1932 and decommissioned in 1972, is a priority investment under Vietnam’s 2021-2030 transport plan. Currently, only a seven km section operates as a tourist attraction. Provincial Chairman Tran Hong Thai welcomed potential cooperation, emphasising the project’s alignment with regional development goals. The session also covered interest in eco-tourism investments in the Central Highlands.
