Japan-based Chaintope Incorporated, a blockchain development firm, is planning to establish a regional centre in Malaysia to promote renewable energy and the government’s digitalisation initiatives.
Chaintope will introduce Tapyrus, its in-house blockchain technology to Malaysia. This technology is currently being used by the company to grant electronic certification and monitor the use of renewable energy produced by waste-to-energy public facilities. This move is in accordance with Malaysia’s goal of being a greener and more innovative economy.
Chaintope Malaysia has backed multiple initiatives in Malaysia and Japan, including administrative digitalization. The technology firm has received JPY300 million in funding from a number of venture capitalists, including ANRI, a seed/early venture capital firm.
