Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the city of Jambi, Indonesia to support the implementation of a SMART Utility initiative using GHD Canada’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI 2.0) solution. The project will replace approximately 104,000 mechanical meters in residential and commercial properties with smart meters that provide real-time consumption data, enabling early leak detection, predictive maintenance, water quality monitoring, and improved utility efficiency.

The AMI 2.0 system uses a connected, two-way network to automatically collect and transmit data, improving customer service and reducing water and energy losses. The MoU allows Jambi to procure the system through a government-to-government (G2G) contract, with CCC facilitating commercial agreements between Canadian businesses and foreign governments.

CCC emphasised that this initiative represents an opportunity to showcase Canadian expertise in digital infrastructure, strengthen sustainability and innovation, and support inclusive growth in Indonesia. Jambi, a key port and commercial hub for industries including oil and rubber, will benefit from enhanced utility operations and digitalisation.
