The Governments of Cambodia and Singapore have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to expand bilateral cooperation on sustainable infrastructure development. The agreement was concluded between Cambodia’s Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) and Singapore’s Asian Infrastructure Institute at a signing ceremony held at the MEF in Phnom Penh.
Under the MoU, both sides will collaborate on the preparation and implementation of infrastructure projects, improve coordination among public and private stakeholders, support capacity development, and promote private sector participation. Priority sectors identified include renewable energy, clean water supply, waste management, transportation, and logistics, with scope for cooperation to be expanded to other areas.
The agreement builds on an earlier MoU signed in 2019 between the MEF and the Asian Infrastructure Institute, under which both parties have worked together on infrastructure planning, institutional capacity building, and investment promotion. The renewed cooperation aims to support Cambodia’s development priorities through more structured project development and increased regional collaboration.
