Mitsubishi Corporation has outsourced the design and supply contract of seven Electric Multiple Units (EMUs) to CAF as part of its contract with the Philippines’ Department of Transportation (DOTr). As per the contract, CAF will manufacture seven express trains, consisting of eight cars each, for the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) Project. Additionally, CAF will also supply the spare parts.

The trains will operate using Southeast Asia’s first ETCS Level 2 mainline signalling system provided by Alstom. The NSCR Line will connect Clark International Airport (CRK) to the province of Laguna.
