BYD Auto Vietnam and FUTA EV Power, the electric vehicle charging infrastructure subsidiary of Phương Trang (FUTA Group), have signed a strategic cooperation agreement to accelerate the development of Vietnam’s green mobility ecosystem. The partnership aims to expand electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, improve charging accessibility and support the country’s transition to low-emission transportation.
Under the agreement, the two companies will collaborate on battery technologies, energy storage systems and public charging infrastructure while enabling interoperability between their charging networks. BYD customers will gain access to FUTA/Kim Long charging stations in addition to BYD’s existing dealer-based charging network, improving charging availability for long-distance and high-frequency users. The partners also plan to study investments in new public charging stations and evaluate the deployment of BYD’s Flash Charge ultra-fast charging technology in Vietnam. Initial infrastructure development will focus on Ho Chi Minh City before expanding nationwide.
The partnership combines BYD’s expertise in electric vehicles, battery technology and electrification solutions with FUTA Group’s nationwide transportation ecosystem, which includes passenger transport, urban buses, logistics services, bus terminals and roadside facilities. By integrating vehicle technology with charging infrastructure, the collaboration aims to strengthen Vietnam’s EV ecosystem, support the country’s green transport objectives and accelerate the adoption of electric mobility through shared, open charging infrastructure.
