BuhaWind Energy Philippines, a joint venture (JV) between Copenhagen Energy and PetroGreen, has been advancing its 4 GW offshore wind projects following the government’s decision to repurpose three key ports as logistics hubs in the Philippines.

The Currimao Port will support BuhaWind’s 2,000 MW project in Northern Luzon, while the Sta. Clara Port will aid developments in Northern Mindoro. The Department of Energy (DOE) plans to auction green energy, focusing on offshore wind projects by mid-2025, as part of efforts to unlock the country’s 66 GW renewable energy potential.
