Brunei Darussalam will prepare a Land Transport White Paper as part of the final stage of the Land Transport Master Plan (LTMP) that is currently under implementation. The white paper will provide the government with a focus on long-term policies to further improve the land transportation system in the country. The LTMP is being conducted by the Centre for Strategic and Policy Studies (CSPS), along with consultants from SQW China Limited and its associate, Atkins. The aim of the LTMP is to establish a strategic framework for the development of an integrated, high quality, efficient, safe, and rapid transport network for Brunei. The current focus of the master plan is to identify appropriate land transportation strategies and propose different options for long-term transport development in Brunei. The resulting plan will ensure a sustainable, equitable, and efficient future transport system. CSPS is currently looking at issues pertaining to traffic congestion, pollution, road accidents, and public transport in the country.
