The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) has secured two major accolades at the Asian Management Excellence Awards 2025, recognising its leadership in innovation and employee engagement. The bank was awarded Philippines Innovator of the Year – Banking and Philippines Employee Engagement of the Year – Banking for its transformative initiatives.
Vice President and Retail Lending and Bancassurance Group Head, Dexter Lloyd Cuajotor, has been instrumental in driving these changes. Under his leadership, retail loans have seen a 32% year-on-year growth, supported by digital transformation, data-driven strategies, and customer-centric products. His initiatives, such as the Lead Coordinators Network, have improved cross-functional collaboration, while the BPI ICare IShare volunteer program has mobilised over 120 employees to assist communities.
BPI’s Innovation Lab has also played a crucial role in fostering a culture of creativity, enabling employees to develop over 100 projects in just two years. Other key programmes, including BPI MyBahay and BPI Green Solutions, have promoted financial inclusion and sustainability, benefiting over 6,000 Filipino families.
