United Kingdom-based BP, an oil and gas company, and Japan-based Nippon Yūsen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK Line), a shipping firm, have partnered to reduce carbon emissions in hard-to-abate sectors in Singapore, including shipping and the marine transportation industry.

The firms aim to achieve long-term decarbonisation targets by exploring potential for future and alternate fuels in shipping, such as LNG, biofuels, ammonia, and hydrogen to boost energy transition in the sector. The partners will also explore opportunities in marine transportation for ammonia and hydrogen supply chains.
