The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) has announced that the first batch of 489 natural gas-fuelled buses will enter service in January 2015. BMTA will start accepting bid applications for the buses in September 2014. Earlier, in February 2014, BMTA revealed plans to award the contract to purchase 3,183 natural gas-fuelled buses in May 2014.
