Malaysia’s Ministry of Transport has approved plans to develop the Bayan Lepas light rail transit (LRT) project in Penang, a state in northwest Malaysia. The LRT system will be developed in two phases, which will collectively span 29.9 km and cover 27 stations. It is also a part of the Penang Transport Master Plan. The Penang government will launch a three-month-long session to receive feedback from civilians, non-governmental organisations and other stakeholders to provide feedback on the project.
