Indonesia-based PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (Bank Mandiri) has partnered with PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) (PT Kai), the state-owned rail operator, to expand digital banking solutions for the transport sector.
Under this partnership, Bank Mandiri will enable fare payments for the Greater Jakarta Commuter Rail (KRL Commuter Line Jabodetabek) and Light Rail Transit (LRT) network through the bank’s Livin’ by Mandiri mobile application (app). The bank will also enable a Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS)-based payment solution at station counters and at ticket vending machines (TVMs) on all stations of PT Kereta Api. In 2023, the network had a ridership of over 331 million passengers.
