The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has been reviewing a proposal for a new pedestrian bridge designed to connect the BDMS Hercules Project with Lumpini Park. The bridge is part of an initiative to promote walkability and improve access to green public spaces in central Bangkok. City officials, including Dr. Wantanee Wattana (Permanent Secretary) and Narong Reungsri (Deputy Permanent Secretary), met with representatives from Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Public Company Limited (BDMS) to assess the project’s feasibility and compliance with city regulations.

The presentation, held at City Hall’s Erawan Room, focused on aligning the proposal with urban planning standards and legal frameworks. Key agencies—such as the Department of Public Works, Traffic and Transport, and Environment—were engaged for input. Officials stressed the need for design conformity, universal accessibility, and adherence to permit procedures. The BMA also advised that the design be revised to suit the location and meet Universal Design principles.

The proposed bridge supports the city’s “Walkable City” initiative by improving connections between nearby communities and Lumpini Park. BDMS envisions the project as part of a larger wellness-focused development combining healthcare, lifestyle, and innovation. Further discussions and design refinements are expected before the project proceeds.
