The Cambodian government has approved Angkor Gold Corporation’s application for a 7,300 square km oil and gas concession in Cambodia through its subsidiary, EnerCam Resources Company Limited. With this approval, Angkor is now proceeding with the negotiation of the production sharing agreement with regard to the licence. This approval also allows Angkor to pursue oil and gas exploration on Petroleum Block VIII. It is located in the Kampong-Som basin, a recently recognised and unexplored onshore sedimentary basin in south-eastern Cambodia.
