The southern extension of the Ampang LRT line (extension Phase II) has opened in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It spans 6.5 km and connects the existing Kinrara BK5 station to Bandar Puteri, covering four stations. The remaining section from Bandar Puteri to Putra Heights covering three stations is scheduled to open by end-June 2016. Phase I of the extension was 7.4 km long and connected Sri Petaling to Kinrara BK5, covering four stations. It opened in October 2015. Upon completion of the extension, the Ampang Line will span 45.1 km and the daily ridership is expected to increase by 195,000 passengers.
