Philippines-based ACEN Corporation has secured a USD150 million loan from international banks to expand its renewable energy (RE) portfolio in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. ACEN Renewables International Private Limited, a subsidiary of ACEN, has entered into a five-year syndicated green term loan and revolving credit facility with a consortium led by Taiwan-based CTBC Bank Group. The group includes CTBC Bank (Philippines) Corporation, CTBC Bank Company Limited, and the Singapore branches of Malayan Banking Bhd, Chang Hwa Commercial Bank Limited, Land Bank of Taiwan, and Mega International Commercial Bank Company Limited.
Currently, ACEN has about 4.8 GW of renewable energy capacity in operation and under construction, with additional agreements and tenders totalling over 1 GW. This loan follows a USD101.133 million green term loan ACEN secured from Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited and Westpac Banking Corporation in February 2024.
