AC Energy Corporation has commenced operations on the 63 MW GigaSol Palauig solar farm in Zambales. It is generating electricity for the Luzon grid. The solar farm, valued at PHP2.39 billion, is the first of AC Energy’s five new plants set to open in 2021. AC Energy’s joint venture (JV) with Citicore Solar Energy Corporation has also begun construction on a 72 MW solar plant in Pampanga that will be operational by the second quarter of 2022.

Currently, AC Energy provides 1,000 MW of power in the Philippines, including the power from the GigaSol Palauig solar farm, with renewables accounting for half of the Group’s total capacity.
