Switzerland-based ABB Limited will provide technology solutions for charging infrastructure for electric vehicles (EV) in the Philippines. In addition to providing support technologies for the deployment of EV charging facilities, ABB will also be in charge of ensuring the reliability of these solutions.
The company will deploy electrical distribution solutions and battery energy storage systems (ESS) as a part of the country’s EV charging infrastructure.
EVs are predicted to account for 10 per cent of road transport vehicles by 2040 in the Philippines. However, support infrastructure and standards remain a roadblock to the implementation of EV charging infrastructure and facilities on a commercial scale.
