ABB has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Vietnam’s energy transition and digital transformation through advanced electrification and automation technologies. The focus areas include energy infrastructure, data centres, talent development and industrial innovation, as Vietnam accelerates industrial modernisation under Power Development Plan VIII. The plan is expected to require $136 billion in power generation and transmission investment by 2030.
Vietnam’s data centre power capacity is projected to increase from approximately 580 MW in 2025 to nearly 980 MW by 2030, increasing demand for reliable, efficient and sustainable power infrastructure. ABB is also supporting workforce development through partnerships with universities including Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Hanoi University of Industry, RMIT University Vietnam, Ton Duc Thang University and Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, with initiatives covering industry training, knowledge sharing and access to advanced technologies.
