HDF Energy Indonesia and Pertamina New & Renewable Energy (Pertamina NRE) have signed a Joint Study Development Agreement to develop renewable energy projects incorporating green hydrogen in Indonesia. The agreement covers the continuation of HDF Energy’s Renewstable project portfolio and provides reciprocal exclusivity for projects in selected districts of East Nusa Tenggara and Papua.
The Renewstable plants combine solar or wind generation with on-site green hydrogen storage to provide continuous renewable electricity. The partnership will initially target remote and island regions where power generation relies heavily on imported diesel, while also exploring industrial applications for hydrogen and the development of a wider green hydrogen ecosystem in Indonesia.
