Pylontech has signed a memorandum of understanding with DAT Group to deploy a 150 MWh battery energy storage system in Ho Chi Minh City, strengthening its expansion strategy in Southeast Asia.
The agreement highlights Pylontech’s long-term commitment to the region’s energy transition, as Vietnam emerges as one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing energy storage markets. Rising renewable energy capacity and supportive policies are driving demand for storage solutions to stabilise power supply and integrate intermittent sources such as solar and wind.
Vietnam’s energy storage sector is expected to grow significantly over the coming years, supported by regulatory developments such as new tariff mechanisms for battery energy storage systems. The collaboration with DAT Group will enable Pylontech to enhance local deployment capabilities and deliver tailored solutions for the Vietnamese market.
Pylontech, which operates in more than 90 countries, is focusing on strengthening its regional presence through local partnerships, service centres, and customised product offerings. The company has already delivered projects across Vietnam, the Philippines, and Malaysia, positioning itself as a key player in Southeast Asia’s evolving energy landscape.
The 150 MWh project marks another step in scaling energy storage infrastructure in Vietnam, supporting grid stability and the broader shift toward renewable energy.
