Envision Energy has installed the first 8 MW wind turbine generator (WTG) for the Alabat Wind Power Project on Alabat Island in the Philippines. The installation marks a major milestone for the company’s first wind project in the country and represents the largest wind turbine delivered by Envision in international markets to date.

The turbine features a rotor diameter of 182 metres, a hub height of 105 metres and blades measuring 90 metres. It incorporates typhoon-resistant technology designed to withstand extreme weather conditions common in island and coastal regions. The turbine forms part of the 64 MW Alabat wind power project being developed by Alternergy Holdings Corporation under the Philippine government’s Green Energy Auction Program (GEAP) Round 2.

Once completed, the project is expected to be among the first wind farms delivered under the GEAP initiative and will contribute to expanding renewable energy capacity in the Philippines. The installation involved several technical and logistical innovations, including the use of segmented tower construction and the direct barge delivery of wind turbine components from China to the project site.
