A one-year geotechnical study to map soil layers in Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle area is set to begin in early November, following a RM10 million Federal Government allocation.

The study aims to chart the soil structure to determine suitable methods for underground works, such as pipe and cable installations. Findings will help identify appropriate techniques for infrastructure development and long-term safety.

Local residents have raised concerns over frequent ground subsidence and sinkholes within a small radius. Residents are urging DBKL to share the study’s findings and propose preventive measures to ensure road safety for motorists and pedestrians.
