Vietnam’s Vingroup has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PT. Sulsel Andalan Energi, a regional enterprise in South Sulawesi, Indonesia, to jointly develop large-scale renewable energy projects, with solar power as the initial focus.
The collaboration will involve ground-mounted and floating solar farms with capacities ranging from 1 MW to 1 GW, integration of energy storage solutions, and planning for grid connections. Vingroup will contribute expertise in green technologies, while Sulsel Andalan Energi will provide regulatory and infrastructure support. Both parties are also exploring smart city initiatives, hospital projects, social housing, and EV ecosystem development. This includes deployment of VinFast electric buses, adoption of VinFast vehicles by government employees, and expansion of V-Green’s charging infrastructure and GSM’s electric taxi services.
