Andrew Jeffries has been appointed Country Director for the Philippines by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), succeeding Pavit Ramachandran, who served in the role since June 2023.

Jeffries previously served as ADB’s Advisor for Energy Transition Mechanism and Partnerships. He will oversee the implementation of ADB’s Country Partnership Strategy 2024–2029 for the Philippines, which focuses on economic growth, quality infrastructure, and disaster resilience.

With an active portfolio of around USD13 billion in the Philippines, ADB has been supporting major programs including the Malolos–Clark Railway Project, disaster response initiatives, small business and workforce development, and the government’s social protection agenda. Jeffries emphasized the importance of inclusive growth and climate risk mitigation as the country advances toward upper-middle-income status.
