VinEnergo Joint Stock Company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to install rooftop solar power systems integrated with battery energy storage systems (BESS) at the manufacturing facilities of VinFast, VinES, and V-G in Hà Tĩnh Province’s Vũng Áng Economic Zone. The project will provide a total planned capacity of 43 MWp of solar and 45 MWh of BESS, generating nearly 50 million kWh annually and cutting more than 33,000 tons of CO₂ emissions per year.
The rollout makes VinEnergo the first enterprise in Vietnam to implement large-scale BESS solutions and the first to apply a direct power purchase agreement (DPPA) model combining solar with BESS. The initiative supports Vingroup’s target of achieving net zero by 2040 and advances Vietnam’s renewable energy goals. According to VinEnergo, the systems will enhance clean energy utilisation across VinFast’s EV factory, VinES’s battery plant, and V-G’s energy solutions facility, reinforcing a green production and transport value chain.
