Munib Madni has been appointed as the first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Singapore’s Financing Asia’s Transition Partnership (FAST-P), according to an announcement by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). The newly established FAST-P office will oversee the deployment of up to USD500 million in blended finance from the Singapore government to support clean energy infrastructure across Asia.
Madni, formerly Chief Investment Officer (CIO) for Asia at Morgan Stanley Investment Management, brings over a decade of investment leadership experience. In 2018, he founded his investment firm, further deepening his credentials in sustainable and impact finance. He is also a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (UK).
In his new role, Madni will lead efforts to mobilise private capital for decarbonisation initiatives and renewable energy development, to accelerate Asia’s clean energy transition. The FAST-P office is a flagship initiative under Singapore’s growing climate finance leadership. His appointment was confirmed by Gillian Tan, MAS’s Chief Sustainability Officer, who highlighted Madni’s experience and leadership as essential for steering this regional transition effort.
