Vietnam-based Sovico Group has submitted a proposal to the Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) People’s Committee to fund the HCMC Metro Line 4 project. Line 4 will span 47.3 km (25 km underground, around 22 km elevated) and cover 37 stations (22 underground, 15 elevated). The quantum of funding to be provided by the company for the project has not been disclosed.

In May 2025, Vingroup, one of the largest conglomerates in Vietnam, submitted a proposal to develop Line 4 in the public–private partnership (PPP) mode. The metro line will span around 48.5 km (fully elevated). It will involve an investment of over USD4 billion. The rail line will have an estimated ridership of 30,000–40,000 passengers per hour per direction (PHPD).
