Pre-qualification documents have been submitted by eight companies, including seven international and one local firm, to participate in the Luang Prabang International Airport Improvement and Development Project in Laos. The Ministry of Public Works and Transport is evaluating the submissions based on experience and technical qualifications before inviting selected bidders to submit full technical and financial proposals by the end of June 2025.
The shortlisted firms include CAIEC, Yunnan Infrastructure Investment, China Road and Bridge Corporation (China), Jalux Inc (Japan), Limak (Turkey), Korea Airports Corporation (South Korea), Muhiban Engineering (Malaysia), and Laos-based Phongsavanh Group. The PPP initiative aims to modernise the country’s second busiest airport to boost tourism and regional connectivity. Final bidding is expected to conclude by the end of 2025.
