TIS Incorporation and PT Aino Indonesia have announced that Acasia 2.0, their jointly developed transport payment system, will now support NFC-enabled QRIS payments. This upgrade, launching in March 2025, aims to improve ticket gate efficiency by allowing users to tap their smartphones instead of scanning QR codes. The new system, developed in collaboration with Bank Indonesia and ASPI, reduces transaction times from up to eight seconds to under one second.

AINO currently provides cashless transport payment services to 15 operators across 28 cities. The enhanced system, which integrates multi-modal fare management and open-loop digital wallet compatibility, will be tested in selected cities before wider deployment in 15 cities by the end of fiscal 2025. TIS and AINO also plan to expand the solution to other ASEAN countries and explore smart city applications through big data utilisation.
