The Ministry of Transport (MoT) of Vietnam will begin construction of the Lào Cai-Hà Nội-Hải Phòng railway line in 2025, with an estimated budget of USD8.37 billion. The pre-feasibility study is due by December 2024, with appraisal set for early 2025 and National Assembly approval expected by May 2024.
This project is part of Vietnam’s broader infrastructure push, which includes expressways and Long Thành Airport. The Ministry aims to disburse VND23 trillion in 2024 to meet its investment targets.
