The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has proposed two construction methods for a dual-track railway between Bangkok and Nakhon Ratchasima. The proposed dual-track railway, from Map Kabao to Chira Junction, will be elevated 8 meters through Nakhon Ratchasima City, ensuring free movement for residents on both sides of the railway and preventing city flooding. The SRT suggested two methods for constructing the railway around the Simathani Bridge.
The first method involves an elevated railway that lowers to pass under the bridge and then rises again, spanning approximately 1,600 meters. This avoids the need to demolish the bridge. The second method proposes building the railway over the bridge.
