The Government of Malaysia will allocate RM50 million to upgrade monorail stations in Kuala Lumpur. This investment aims to improve public transport facilities, focusing specifically on entry gates, elevators, and toilets at the stations. Additionally, the plan includes the installation of advanced surveillance cameras equipped with video analytics to enhance security.

The upgrade works will commence in September 2024. Currently, out of 21 elevators across 11 monorail stations in Kuala Lumpur, only three are operational, leaving 18 out of service. The elevators at the Imbi, Hang Tuah, and Tun Sambathan stations are expected to be operational by October 2024. Meanwhile, the elevators at Raja Chulan, Bukit Nanas, Medan Tuanku, and KL Sentral stations will be fixed by January 2025.
