The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has secured more than USD65 million from the state budget to upgrade and repair 226 of 291 railway crossings in Vietnam. The remaining 65 railway crossings were constructed using various funding sources.

The funds will be used to upgrade and fully equip the signalling system at crossings.

The Vietnam Railway Corporation (VNR) has announced plans to continue investing in repairing and adding signals at 200 crossings. Further, VNR has also proposed to upgrade and install automatic warning signals at 566 other crossings by the end of 2025.
