The Government of Thailand has opened a new bridge over the Chao Phraya River, also known as the Second Rama IX bridge, to pedestrian traffic. The 41-metre-long bridge is a part of Bangkok’s expressway system, featuring a cable-stayed design with eight lanes.
The bridge is expected to open to vehicular traffic in future. The bridge is an addition to the city’s infrastructure and runs alongside the existing Rama IX bridge.
