The City Government of Iloilo City has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Futran Philippines Incorporation to conduct a feasibility study for the PHP16 billion Green People Mover project in the Philippines. The Green People Mover project is a podcar system project, a personal rapid transit system featuring small low-capacity automated vehicles which operate on a network of specially built guideways.
As per the MoU, the city government will provide the necessary data to Futran which will also include a Comprehensive Land Use Plan and updated population of the city.
The feasibility study will cover pre-development, technical, environmental, social marketing, financial, legal, and organisational studies to determine the technical and financial viability of the project in the city. The study is expected to be completed by August 2024.
