A Memorandum of Arrangement (MOA) has been signed between Ministry of Transport (MoT) of Singapore, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), New Zealand’s MoT and the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) to develop sustainable aviation. Under the terms of the agreement, the agencies will collaborate on four key area including developing policy and regulation, future infrastructure planning and provision, industry development and workforce transformation in the sector.

The respective agencies will also jointly research and develop, test bed and trial sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), establish supply chains in the APAC region. The commercial and technical feasibility of launching green lanes between the two countries will also be explored.

The MOA is in line with the objectives of the Climate Change and Green Economy Pillar under the Singapore-New Zealand Enhanced Partnership.
