The Long Thanh international airport, which will handle 25 million passengers and 1.2 million tonnes (mt) of goods annually, is expected to become operational by 2025 after the first phase of the project is completed. The feasibility of the project, which includes three investment phases, will be reviewed by the National Assembly. The first phase of the project is expected to cost around $4.779 billion. State-owned Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) is expected to be assigned as the investor and operator of the project. ACV expects to contribute around $1.566 billion in capital for the first phase of the project, with the remaining $2.628 billion coming from loans. The project targets serving 100 million passengers and handling 5 mt of goods annually.
