Standard Chartered Bank has appointed Plakorn Wanglee as the CEO for its Thailand branch and its representative offices, effective September 1, 2016.
In his new capacity, Wanglee is accountable for the overall business, building relationships with local clients, regulators and stakeholders, as well as taking charge of profitability and capital. Wanglee will also oversee the bank’s representative offices in Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar, in addition to his responsibilities in Thailand. Wanglee has more than 23 years of experience in banking and finance and has worked on mergers and acquisitions, debt, equity, and market transactions for Thai and international corporations and financial institutions.
