Mohd Hassan Marican, former President and CEO of Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas), has been appointed as Chairman of Pavilion Energy, a unit belonging to Temasek Holdings, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund. Pavilion Energy was established by Temasek with the objective of exploiting Asia’s rising energy demand, with particular attention on liquefied natural gas.

Marican worked at Petronas from 1989 to 2010. During this period, he has held various positions including Senior Vice-President, Chairman, President, and CEO. He was also Chairman of Petronas Trading Limited and Malaysia International Shipping Corporation Berhad. After leaving Petronas, he acccepted directorships at various companies including Sembcorp, Singapor Power and ConocoPhillips. Prior to joining Petronas, Marican worked at Touche Ross & Company in London (1972–80) and Hanafiah Raslan & Mohamed in Malaysia (1980–89).
