China-based Zhengzhou Yutong Bus Company Limited (Yutong) has signed a contract with the Yangon government to supply more than 1,000 buses for the Yangon Region Transport Authority (YRTA). Delivery of the buses is scheduled to begin in May 2017. The YRTA operates 79 bus routes and deploys a fleet of 3,500 buses. The system has an average daily ridership of 2.5 million passengers.
