YTL Power International and US-based Nvidia have entered a strategic partnership to develop a green-powered AI infrastructure project in Malaysia worth RM10 billion (approximately USD 2.15 billion). The initiative involves building AI data centres, deploying Nvidia’s high-performance graphic processing units (GPUs), and developing a sovereign large language model for Malaysia. The project also includes creating a broader AI ecosystem with support from local contractors, technology providers, and suppliers.

Malaysia’s Ministery of Investment, Trade and Industry has announced the partnership and noted that such collaborations align with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s global outreach strategy to attract high-impact investments. YTL Power, listed on Bursa Malaysia and a subsidiary of YTL Corporation, operates in multiple countries and is diversifying beyond traditional power generation into data centres, telecom, water services, and digital banking.
